RESUME

Antonella Buono

I was born in Rome.
They told me I used to draw fashion since the first day I was able to hold a pencil.
I did my studies at The International Academy of Haute Couture and Art of Costume Koefia in Rome where I graduated as a Fashion Designer and Product Responsible.
Even before my graduation, my first engagement as a fashion designer took me to Mexico City for a fashion show.
Afterwards I got interested in costumes and I began working in the field, first as an assistant costume designer, then as a key costume designer for movies and short movies. I’ve  then kept working as a stylist over the last 11 years, exploring many different aspects of my job: fashion shootings, videoclips, personal and company branding and so on. I also had the opportunity to work as a trend Spotter at Trendstop.com.
Currently, beyond my work in costume designing and fashion styling, I’m teaching Fashion Design for the Philadelphia University in Rome at UARC, and being the UARC Study Abroad Program didactic coordinator. The courses I teach include: Fashion Design, Fashion Illustration, Fashion Figure Drawing, Fashion Styling, Trend forecasting, Italian design, Design Concepts.
In 2011 I’ve worked as a Creative Director for D O U B L E, and I’ve created the project “NU:S Fashion and Architecture”, which consisted in an engaging installation, which examined the interactions between Fashion and Parametric Architecture. The exibit was inaugurated at Chiostro del Bramante during the Rome Fashion Week and then was hosted by MACRO La Pelanda for two months.
In 2012 I left the company, due to my increasingly demanding tasks as a stylist and a professor. Currently I teach courses at UARC, Accademia Koefia, Accademia Italiana, Ied.
In the same year I began working as a previsualization artist for Milena Canonero (the four times Academy Award winner costume designer for Marie Antoinette, Barry Lyndon, Chariots of fire,The Gran Budapest) on the movies “I trust you” by Luca Barbareschi and “The Gran Budapest” by Wes Anderson (Academy award 2015 for Costume Design).
I also began working as a previsualization artist for the Opera with the costume designer Petra Reinhardt on Operas such as “The Magic Flute” that was performed next season in Vienna, "Les Fetes Venitiennes" in Paris and others.
In 2014 I was invited as a speaker at The International Luxury Conference in Philadelphia, where I presented the lecture "Framing made in Italy_Luxu-rite: a business model scenario".
I’m based in Rome, and I love working overseas too.
