CONTACTS

I am Antonella Buono, a Visual Artist and Designer with over 15 years of
experience bringing creative visions to life.

My multidisciplinary expertise spans fashion, film, opera, and visual arts. I’ve
had the privilege of collaborating with award-winning costume designers such
as Milena Canonero, Ursula Patzak, and Petra Reinhardt on international
projects, including The Grand Budapest Hotel (Oscar for Best Costume
Design) and the recent Megalopolis by Francis Ford Coppola.

My work has been featured in prestigious theaters like La Scala in Milan and
the Opéra Comique in Paris. In fashion, I’ve contributed to the creation of
original products and strengthened the visual identity of existing lines.

In creative direction, I have developed innovative projects that explore the
boundaries between disciplines such as fashion and architecture, exhibited at
the Chiostro del Bramante, MACRO and the Carousel du Louvre.

Thanks to my kaleidoscopic approach, which blends traditional visualization
techniques such as drawing with cutting-edge technologies,

I’m able to offer unique creative solutions.

This perspective allows me to achieve distinct and innovative results that go
beyond conventional expectations, ensuring each project stands out with its
own signature identity.

This portfolio

invites you

to discover my work

as a visual artist

and designer,
showcasing

the techniques

and creativity

that bring

each project

to life.

Using a variety of media—graphite, watercolor, India
ink, pencils, mixed media, and Procreate—I balance
the accurate representation of the garment with
the emotional impact it conveys. Each piece not only
shows the design but also evokes the mood, creating
a dialogue between form and feeling.

Capturing the narrative through costume—crafting
visual identities that move with the character,
echoing their inner world in every stitch and fold.

Through concept art and costume design, I visualize
the evolution of garments on stage, capturing the
dynamic shifts in character and story. My work
blends historical depth with theatrical emotion,
creating costumes that transform with each scene,
enhancing the drama and grandeur of the
performance.

Everything begins with prompt design—it’s through
this process that I blend AI with both hand-drawn
and digital illustrative techniques. This approach
enables both form finding and form making, pushing
the boundaries of creative possibilities in innovative
concepts, hyper-realistic fabric simulations, and
intricate texture design.

As a fashion stylist for editorial projects, my focus is
on crafting narratives through clothing, where every
piece serves a purpose in shaping the story.
Balancing conceptual vision with precise execution, I
curate looks that amplify the mood and message of
each shoot, ensuring that the wardrobe becomes an
integral part of the visual language.

Editorial

As a designer I approach each piece as a fusion of
form and function. Particulrly in footwear design I
ensure that every design not only complements the
silhouette but also embodies a distinct character.

Through meticulous attention to detail and trend
research, I create bold designs that serve as
statements of individuality. Each piece is crafted to
express identity, blending innovative forms with a
strong aesthetic vision.

In the next pages you will see part of my workflow
for a shoes collection creation.

Shoe Design

When approaching direction for events or
installations, I merge disciplines to craft truly
experiential moments for the audience.

NUS_La Moda Veste L’Architettura_ stands out as
one of my most significant projects, where my
artistic approach is most evident. It brings together
two disciplines particularly close to me—fashion and
architecture—showcasing their interaction in a way
that defines my vision. The project output was
showcased during Fashion week at Bramante
cloister in Rome, and later at the Museum of
Contemporary Art.
